1967 – Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna was the 228th film to release according to ‘Kannada Chalanachitra Itihasa’.

It was in 1967 ‘Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna’ was released in Chitravani banner by producer Anantha Hire Gowdaru. Babu Rao Athani raising funds of Rs.1000 and Rs.500 completed the project in 10 years duration with a budget of Rs.75000.

Two Bharatha Rathna winners legendary Latha Mangeshkar and Bhimsen Joshi have lent their voice for this film besides Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar, Manna Day for bellane Belagaaithu…Ellaru Irthiro….Buchindra Mahesha….Bhosle was the music director. Shanker Savekar was the cameraman. The film was made completely by North Karnataka people recorded in Kollapur Prabhat Studio. Sadashiva Gaekwad is the art director of the 1967 ‘Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna.

MS Patil with original name of Naveen Chandra was in the title role. Abhi Bhattacharya, Kamini Kadam, VS Patil, Daada Salvi, Saroj Borker, Vibhute, Renukamma Murugod, Ram Gopal have acted in that film.

Now in 2012 the biggest film of the history ‘Kanti Veera Sangolli Rayanna’ is releasing on Kannada Rajyotsava Day.

After 45 years the film in grand scale is made by Sri Sangolli Rayanna Cine Combines, Belagavi is an epic story of warrior.

Anand Appugol of Belgaum has spent according to one calculation over Rs.25 crores. The film was made in two years time. One of the biggest box office draws Darshan is in the lead role. Dr Jayaprada is repeating what Dr B Saroja Devi had done in ‘Kittur Rani Chennamma’ Kannada cinema.

Ramesh Babu is the cameraman of this prestigious film of Kannada cinema industry. Yashovardhan has composed the songs for this film. Lakshmikanth, Devaraj Palan are assistant directors, Mohan Pandit is art director, Deepu S Kumar and his late father Sashikumar have edited this film. Ravi Verma in stunts, Chinni Prakash in choreography are in the technical team.

Lead by challenging star Darshan the cast of the film includes Dr Jayaprada, Nikita Tukral, Shashikumar, Srinivasamurthy, Shobaraj, Umasri, Doddanna, CR Simha, Ramesh Bhat, Shivakumar, Dharma, Saurav, Likitha, Satyajith, Sadashiva Brahmavar, Killer Venkatesh, Karibasavaish, Aravind, Biradar, Rajesh, producer Andnd Appugol are found in the film ‘Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna’.
